If you are bored with your current job, make a list of the activities you still enjoy and those that you don't like.

Add a list of tasks you would like to be able to do, even if you have no experience.

Take a look at your list and ask yourself how many of the items are tasks you could do in your present job, if given the chance. Try discussing the possibilities at your next appraisal and don't forget to look into training, as mentioned yesterday.

If you find you are unable to make any changes, think about gaining some extra skills through volunteering.
